Dust jacket restored by prior owner with full backing in archival tissue and color fills and touch-ups along edges; evidence under light of prior shallow chips and tears along edges and folds, with a quarter-sized chip at head of spine (with some loss to original text, now filled by hand), some current smudging / spotting to surface, and light edgewear. Boards are square with some smudging and soiling to cloth, mainly along edges and spine, and some dulling to gilt. Patch of heavy foxing / gluestaining to front free pastedown with some toning to endpapers in general. Occasional thumbprinting in margins, else interior unmarked.

All have light edgewear, and pinpricks in the four corners. Illustrations are bright and fanciful. Folder has small chips and tears, is intact but worn along the fold.Illustrations by various artists based on stories from children's books by Pushkin (with apologies for errors in translating the artists names): "Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish" (two illustrations by E. Chistyakova), "Tale of the Golden Cockerel" (three by G. Lopatina), "Tale of the Tsar Saltan" (three by T. Dmitrieva), "Tale of the Dead Princess" (two by N. Litvinenko), and "Tale of the Priest and His Workman Baida" (two by O. Zaikova).
