In a very good, price clipped dust jacket with a 1/3" deep chip from the upper edge of the spine area, shallow chipping at the base of the spine area, heavy wear to the folds and several tape repairs to the recto of the jacket on the rear panel and numerous tape repairs on the verso of the jacket. He also took part in the last great rendezvous of the Rocky Mountains Fur Co. at Ham's Fork of the Green River in 1834. Meek continued to trap and guide throughout the Rocky Mountains until he finally settled in Oregon in 1840. The author presents an excellent well-written biography of this important mountain man and pioneer settler of Oregon. A fine, bright copy in bright dust jacket with light edgewear.
