Tan boards with green cloth quarter binding to spine and white titles to the spine. The first American edition, the publishing details show the printing sequence (10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1). The DJ has minor wear to the e dge of the spine. The book has no inscriptions or previous owner's names and the jacket is not price clipped. Whilst Pullman has won the Carnegie Medal, the Guardian Children's Fiction Award, the Smar ties Prize and Children's Book of the Year at the British Book Awards it was only the final instalment of the His Dark Materials trilogy (which even made the Booker prize longlist) that seems to have garnered him the popular acclaim he undoubtedly deserves. Signature is genuine, (I have a photo of myself with Mr Pullman should proof be required) but I did not have the book with me at the time - hence the bookplate. Bookplate Signed By Author.
