(color and B&W graphics) 48-page program booklet issued in conjunction with an exhibit of the renowned film title/graphic designer's work, held at the Visual Arts Museum of the School of Visual Arts in 1996. Contains several dozen full-page reproductions of Bass's most iconic creations, a nice sampler of his work in film (THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN ARM, ANATOMY OF A MURDER, THE SHINING, CASINO, PSYCHO, etc.), corporate logo design/advertising (AT&T, United Airlines, the Girl Scouts, etc.), and miscellaneous other design work (book covers, event posters). The text consists of two single-page pieces -- "Saul Bass as a Designer of Films" by Martin Scorsese, and "Saul Bass, a Combination of Intellect and Emotion" by Louis Dorfman -- plus a short summary of Bass's career.
