This postcard is an unused, undated, full-bleed, divided-back (1907 or later), printed in Germany (1915 or earlier) hand-colored photo published by S A Longenecker (a respected photographer who moved to Rapid City, SD in 1907 and published his own postcards from 1908 until his death in 1909) w/ a simple stamp box outline. It is a handsome piece with minimal soiling, rubbing, creasing, yellowing or wear at edges and corners. The photo is of the most historic stagecoach in existence, the famous Deadwood coach. It was built in 1863, operated until 1913 and was fitted to carry gold from Deadwood to the railroad. To prevent robberies, the coach was accompanied by shotgun messengers with reputations as dead shots and killers to defend the coach. Following its decommissioning, this was also the stagecoach used for many years by Buffalo Bill in his Wild West shows. Postcards are shipped via USPS first class mail with postcards placed between card stock stiffeners inserted into standard mailing envelopes. For customers located outside the United States an extra charge of $3.00 will be requested following initial order and prior to shipping. Seller Inventory # 000298
