About the Author:

Steven Heller is the cochair of the MFA Designer as Author program and cofounder of the MFA in Design Criticism program at the School of Visual Arts inNew York. He was an art director at the "New York Times "for 33 years and is currently the editor of "AIGA VOICE" and acontributing editor to "Print," "Eye," "Baseline" and "I.D." magazines. Hehas written more than 120 books on design and popular culture, including "Design Literacy," "Paul Rand," and "Stylepedia." In 1999, he received the AIGA Medal for Lifetime Achievement. He lives in New York City. Veronique Vienne is the author of "The Art of Doing Nothing" and "The Art of Imperfection." She has worked as an art director at anumber of magazines and is afrequent contributor to "Graphis" and "Metropolis" magazines."
