This book actually began when my wife said, "Why don't you go around the corner to Caroline's Comedy Club and take pictures of comedians instead of just trying to get girls out of their clothes. Do a book or something." So I did, and the pictures in this book are part of that work ethic effort. Hank Gallo, who is actually the writer, not the designer, and I saw a lot of comedy and had a lot of fun, capturing, with a few notable exceptions, what is basically comedy in the 80s. And really, even though the philistines at People Magazine hated it, there never was anthing else quite like this. Luckily, there are still copies available. (I think Amazon has them all.)

Depicts the comedians who got their start in the 1980s, recounts their careers, and discusses the role of comedy clubs and cable television.
