The IL reader is right, but can millions of women be wrong?
I love to hear feedback--all kinds from my readers--because I based the information on ALL my books on the data, facts, anecdotes, tips, etc., that I gathered from industry associations, business experts, and of course, the successful women entrepreneurs themselves who shared so much of their experiences--good and bad with me. Yes, the IL reader is correct in saying that it takes many hours and much energy to run any kind of business, let alone one based in your home and with children. But my mission with my books is to present (1)the many kinds of entrepreneurial ideas that can start a person thinking of what ventures they might like to explore; and (2) to give them a "jump-start" with some helpful resources that they can pursue for more information. I do say in my books that it may take several years to have a business profitable enough to support a family--three-fourths of all home businesses are started part-time; and experts say it may take three attempts at starting a business before one succeeds! But every business that I have featured, I have researched,(I read an average of ten business publications a month)or have spoken to, e-mailed, or met, women operating these businesses either on a part- or full-time basis, including one woman who has (yes) a successful home-care agency that does quite well enough to hire her sister and daughter. But thank you all for your comments--no matter what your opinion is--and feel free to e-mail me with more!! I will also be happy to answer any business-related questions you may have!! 101 Best Wishes for Entrepreneurial Success!! P.S. Statistics show that there are now over 9 million women business owners in the U. S. and the number keeps growing!
