It is an amazing world we live in, in which a "shopping cart" becomes a button on a screen, to be clicked. What could be easier! So, go ahead, click! Now you may be wondering why I would write a book about Billy Schneider. What could be so interesting about his life? First of all, he is my husband. Not what I had planned when I first heard him speak at my church. But God had other plans, and within six months of meeting him, I became Mrs. Billy Schneider in 1995. Secondly, his story is extraordinarily relevant in todays world, especially in the world of our teenagers. Billy grew up in the streets of New York City, where, in the 60's and 70's drugs were rampant. Today they are rampant on every street in America. What Billy lived through, teens today are facing everywhere. Marijuana, lsd, cocaine, heroin, pills, alcohol - every drug that floated by, Billy tried. But the amazing story of how a face to face encounter with Jesus Christ changed his life is one no one who has experienced pain in his or her life should miss. Billy says, "Jump stands for "Jesus Understood My Pain!" And if he understood Billy's pain, he can understand mine. Anyone's pain. Billy speaks to students in public schools across America about their choices, pleading with them - "let me be your stop-sign!" And when Billy speaks, students listen. But I knew that there was so much more to Billy's story, so much that would be lost if it were only told as Billy tells it from school to school, that I knew it had to be written.
