About the Author:
Richard van Emden is widely regarded as one of Britain's foremost oral historians of the First World War. His works include the ground-breaking Boy Soldiers (to accompany Channel 4 documentary 'Britain's Boy Soldiers), Veterans: The Last Survivors of the Great War, Prisoners of the Kaiser, The Trench (accompanying the BBC2 series, All Quiet on the Home Front, Boy Soldiers, (to accompany Channel 4 documentary 'Britain's Boy Soldiers) and the best-selling Last Fighting Tommy: The Life of Harry Patch.
