Stan Eales has a unique talent for expressing the thoughts and concerns of ordinary people about their environment. His cartoons are wistful and sometimes wicked. But they are always funny and frequently provocative. In this, the first-ever collection of environment-friendly cartoons, he challenges big business, fur-wearing humans, car owners, city dwellers, meat eaters and even the ‘green movement’ itself. His heroes are the innocents of the natural world: animals, birds, fish and plants; the victims of human folly. His idea of Utopia – simply to enjoy the natural things of life: the moon, the stars and most of all, sunshine.
Stan is a regular contributor to Punch, Private Eye and The Spectator magazines. In 1987, his first cartoon was published in the UK, on the front cover of Punch. In the US, he has had work published by NobleWorks, Playboy and Warner Books. His second book, ‘Cashtoons’, is a sardonic look at the world of corporations, business ethics, greed, the disenfranchised and the super-rich.
