Who will find this book useful?
After 30 years of teaching composers in college and university, I designed this short book to cover essential skills needed by the young composer at top school level and university undergraduate level. It has proved useful to those training to be teachers of music, and for many teachers in need of ideas to train compositional skills, as well as many mature learners who are just interested in how composing works. My own work covers opera, orchestral concert music, choral, chamber, film and tv. I tried to bring together the experience of both professional composing and teaching into a helpful 90 pages!
