About the Author:
Eric Anderson is Professor of History at Pacific Union College in Angwin, California. He is the author of Race and Politics in North Carolina, 1872-1901: The Black Second and coeditor, with Alfred A. Moss, Jr., of The Facts of Reconstruction: Essays in Honor of John Hope Franklin. Alfred A. Moss, Jr., is Associate Professor of History at the University of Maryland in College Park and an Episcopal priest. He is author or editor of several books, including From Slavery to Freedom: A History of African Americans, sixth and seventh editions, cowritten with John Hope Franklin.
