Happy Valentine's Day
I'm Shirley Hailstock, one of the authors of the Valentine's Day Anthology, I Do. The story was our editors idea. She read a NY Times ad for a contest sponsored by the Rainbow Room Restaurant in which the winners received a wedding on Valentine's Day in the famous restaurant and an all-expense paid honeymoon. My story, THE ENGAGEMENT, deals with a couple who have been engaged for fourteen, yes 14, years. Now that they are finally in the same city and nothing is blocking them from marrying, they reevaluated whether they really want to be married. I had a lot of fun with the story, especially the characters. Peter is a TV anchorman and Selena owns her own public relations firm. Sparks can still fly even for couples who have known each other a long, long time.
