Both Paula Danziger and Ann M. Martin have long reigned amongst the world's bestselling children's authors. But their first collaboration, PS Longer Letter Later, which told the story of two young girls separated by distance but brought together by letter writing, proved that despite their very individual writing styles they were able to work together to produce and outstanding novel which let their own personalities shine through alongside the personalities of the characters between the pages.

Snail-Mail No More picks up where the first book left off, with the two girls this time corresponding by e-mail as life-changing events happen all around them. Tara*Starr is about to find out for the first time in her life what it is like not to be the centre of attention, as she goes from being only child to older sister when her mother announces she is having a baby. Meanwhile the previously quiet, studious Elizabeth is growing in confidence and stature as she deals with her parent's painful separation. As the two girls face new challenges, they struggle to maintain their long distance friendship--a friendship that has so far been the rock in both their lives.

If Danziger and Martin had been childhood pen pals, their correspondence might have read much like this strikingly insightful epistolary novel. Each known for a finely tuned ear to her audience, the venerable authors here do a splendid job of creating a story based on the letters exchanged between 12 year old best friends, one of whom has just moved to another state. The authors' distinctive voices give the collaboration a rare spontaneity and realism...Given Danziger's and Martin's penchant for continuing storylines, readers can only hope that this will be an ongoing correspondence. P.S. Longer Letter Later has two attractive main characters, and it is a lively and engaging duet without a sour note. Given both authors' propensity for writing series, is it unreasonable to expect a sequel? (NEW YORK TIMES)
