This is probably the funniest "Men of Glory" book I've written. Why? Because Lucas is an altogether guy with no chip on his shoulder and a lot of smarts. When her son's gerbil gets loose in her apartment, Virginia Lake calls on Lucas. He comes to her rescue, of course. I mean--how hard can it be to catch a gerbil? I based this scene on something that happened once to my husband and myself and my editor said she laughed out loud when she read it! Judith Bowen
