Plough the Furrow is set in rural lincolnshire in the early 1900's and follows the life of Esther Everett. She is a strong willed young woman who will do what ever it takes to make a better life for herself. Her methods are not always well received, especially by the local women-folk and sometimes, sadly, even those closest to her.
